Oh the Places You'll Go

Once we found out we were having a girl, Brad decided to start reading to her every night, so that she can get used to hearing his voice. After a couple of nights of reading (and putting me to sleep), he came home from work with this book:

It's a cute little book, and was written specifically to be read while the baby is still in utero. You can do this with any book, but apparently, this book is is really good. If you read the same book to the baby while he or she is still in the womb, it begins to comfort her. So, after she is born, if she becomes fussy, you can read the book to her, and it will comfort and relax her. Having the same tone of voice, and fluctuation of voice that she heard daily in the womb carries to the outside world.

It's really sweet to have Brad so excited about becoming a dad. I love that he wants to bond with her, and get her used to his voice. Plus, when he reads to her, it is a moment that the three of us can share as a family.

Nursery Update: The walls are primed, the baseboards, crown molding, and doors have all been painted white. Hopefully this weekend, the pink can go up on the walls. Its a very pale shade of pink, so I think it will be very dainty and pretty.

By the end of the month, we will be ordering our crib and furniture for the room, and hopefully it will come in soon. As soon as it does, I will post pictures of it.
